The Historic Center of San Donà di Piave

San Donà di Piave is a city of about 41,500 inhabitants in the Province of Venice, and is universally known as the provincial capital of the so-called Eastern Venice. The city is located in Veneto's lowland, along the Piave river, just a few chilometres from Venice and Treviso, as well as from the beaches of Jesolo, Caorle, and Eraclea.

The city dates back to the Middle Ages, and has always been an important trade junction since the ancient times.

San Donà is a city full of flowers, parks and gadens. The River Park (Parco Fluviale) is one of the most important parks, immediately visible on the right upon entering the town and crossing the main bridge. It is a beautiful naturalistic island which during these past years has been particularly taken care of by the municipal administration. Throughout the whole year, the Park attracts tourists and locals, as well as river fishing lovers. As a matter of fact, the River Park offers areas for jogging, fishing, and rowing. Moreover, barbecue fixed stands are set around the Park for free use.

San Donà di Piave offers many possibilities for different sports. Athletics, soccer, rugby, volleyball, water polo: the town is full of all kinds of cutting edge sport facilities. Throughout the whole year, the city organizes a large number of sport events, even at national level.
